Life-Giver

F.A. Moore

Life-Giver

Women in most ancient and modern cultures and major religions are considered “life-givers”. Here, a beautiful young woman is portrayed just as she teeters on the brink between innocence and her destiny, as “Life – Giver”.

Suggestions: Friendship, Thinking of You, or Mother to Be Note Card. This is also beautiful, framed.

Thanks to the beautiful model, Ilana Lu.

Just had a closer look – by clicking your links on the right…GOSH…there is so much in this work…this is extraordinary! Well done! x

  • F.A. Moore replied

Yes! A lot in the work. Including the motage that makes up the hat. They are tiny pictures of life—fruit, animals, the sea (alive, I believe), flowers, trees, and all manner of things. In the hat, I applied a watercolor filter to them, to create the mosaic effect. But along side of the tassles, you can make out the tiny images, without effect. Thanks for your curiousity and comments, Emma!

This is fantastic and my favorite. You’ve kept some unique creativity and originality under wraps for some time. I’m so happy to see you bringing it out so the rest of us can enjoy it. xo

  • F.A. Moore replied

Thanks, Jill! Well, I’ve been away from the art world for entirely too long, emersed in the world of science and math and programming—challenging too. As you know, I wish I had time for the brushes, but digital art is providing that refreshment and nourishment that I need right now, between long hours of coding. Red Bubble will make me a better artist.

  • Tahnja

    Tahnja

Wowzers she is so beautiful. A little too much head height for me but that’s a personal thing not a criticism. Her lips just demand to be viewed lol. Great work

  • F.A. Moore replied

Thanks, Tahnja. Well, you see things I don’t of course; so I’m glad to hear what you’re saying. When I was drawing, I would turn my piece in the mirror to see if there was something out of balance. But I’m not doing it with these digital pieces, so I don’t see. :) Thanks for your input. :D

  • Tahnja

    Tahnja

I know exactly what you mean, I now use my phone camera for a different perspective, you can always hold up a mirror to the screen to still get another view. I also cover areas with my hand that I think need to be changed and that helps as well.

There’s nothing wrong this piece, hats and things are often high in height but it annoys me personally that’s all lol.

God bless you and wonderful to chat

  • F.A. Moore replied

Ah! Some good ideas there. Thanks, Tahnja.
Now I don’t want you to be annoyed, so run along now, lol.
;) Close your eyes. lol. Seriously, thanks for those tips.

Frannie, I get such a memory of Molly Ringwald with this one. Very nice and well captured. Cheers, RVG

  • F.A. Moore replied about 1 month ago

Rhino, I had never considered that. It’s those lips. Young Molly, as I remember her from the Breakfast Club, had those very large, full lips, and sweet dark eyes. A nice memory, as I really enjoyed that movie and the actors it introduced. Thanks!

  • redqueenself

    redqueenself 29 days ago

Wonderful! For some reason the headdress reminds me of Klimt. I love this!

  • F.A. Moore replied 29 days ago

Thank you, redqueen! I had Klimt in mind when I created the mosaic for her headdress. I love Gustav Klimt’s art. And for some reason, I pictured it, when Life-Giver started taking shape. Thanks for recognizing the nod in his direction. We cannot help but be influenced by the art that we love. It’s very natural, like the influence of the woods, or gardens, or birds, or the air and sky, itself. Especially when one inhales art as if was life or breath. :D
