Taken as demolition on the old Industrial Brownhoist site was in progress. The site is southwest of Bay City Hall, Bay County, Michigan, US. The company (though later companies occupied the location after I-B closed) use to make massive cranes used for construction (to my knowledge, they at one point had the distinction of manufacturing the largest crane in the world). This particular building was the foundry. I was walking near the area, taking photographs, and I noticed the sun was low on the horizon, so I tried moving to a position to ‘catch’ this shot. I like it, though it may not be ‘good’ photography. This was one of my first photographs that I actually thought of giving an actual title to, and chose the current one due to the imminent demise of the structure (and the end of an era/eyesore in the local area).

I hadn’t really been ‘into’ photography until recently. Before then (about 2008), the costs of film, developing and printing was just too much for my wallet. Then, I bought my first digital camera…now I quite literally don’t know when to stop (well, maybe when the weather is too inclement, or the distances involved are prohibitive). Mostly, I stick with the local area (Bay City (Bay County), Michigan, US) – and have ‘discovered’ many hidden treasures nearby.
