I have always taken photos but when I was given my first digital camera, I began to explore the potential.
Our Shetland Pony Stud, Thordale, supplied the ponies for Tim Flach’s EQUUS book and so I had the privilege of seeing a professional at work. Tim very kindly looked at my efforts and advised me to go and buy a better camera!
After more persuasion, I did and now have my own Exhibition of work traveling around various Shetland venues, 2 postcard booklets plus my work featured in other publications including the Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society annual magazines.
I also created a series of dvd’s called Reflections of Shetland – a portrait of Shetland through the seasons accompanied by traditional Shetland music, dialect poetry and yarns.
This is a film I made for fun that appears to be very popular and ended up as a published postcard book.
