On a misty and rainy morning a few weeks ago I was walking with a mate in the Dorrigo National Park in Northern NSW.

The park is one of Australia’s Gondwanaland World Heritage sites.

The plants which feature in this abstract are called “walking stick palms” which have lovely sprays of red berries.

I don’t often use filters like this (in this case “motion blur”), preferring a more natural type of photo but, in this case, I thought this treatment demonstrated what it was really like on the day – dripping wet, as you’d expect in the rainforest.

Hi,

I love photography, travelling, native Australian flora and fauna, cycling and most other sports too. I also like landscapes and cityscapes.

I hope these interests are reflected in my portfolio.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you like my work.

Cheers
Fran

I really like what you have done here Fran………………….remind me never to visit here with my hair……………….moisture is not a good idea……………..I end up looking like the wild man of Borneo……………………..looks a fabulous place though…………………………..xx

  • Phew, I was a bit dubious about making such a departure from the real thing, so I’m really pleased you like it. My hair is really curly to start with so I hate it too – when I was a teenager I used to have it chemically straightened and I used to say that I was going to live in the desert when I “grew up”. But I’m still here in sunny, but humid, Sydney! Cheers and thanks again Joyce.

Are you sure you are not my long lost twin…………………I had my hair chemically straightened too and I did think about moving to the edge of the Sahara, somewhere in Egypt……………….I think I may have left it too late………………we are alright where we are I think in the meantime…………………….xx

  • Hah! Even in my avatar it had been “relaxed” and that photo was taken well into my fifties. I’ve given up now though Joyce. Talk soon and thanks again for all the “favouritings”! Love, Fran
