Just a few km outside Siem Reap I saw these lovely Buddhist flags in a field of young padi plants. The next day, at a village about 30km from Siem Reap, I saw these bundles of rice stalks.
Apart from the people, one of the things I love most about Asia is the padi. The padi fields go from brown when being ploughed, to emerald during the growth stage, to yellow during the ripening phase and then back to brown, ready for the next crop.
To show a couple of the stages in the cycle I combined these two images using gradient map in Photoshop. I hope you like it!
