Basilique – Cathedral du Notre Dame, Old Quebec City, Quebec
It’s just splendid. How old is a building of the basilica? How often does a vicar serve a mass for a parish? Only Sunday? Or each day if it is the Cathedral-minor basilica?
Originally built on this site in 1647, the church was twice destroyed by fire. Each time, it was rebuilt on its original foundation, according to the architect’s plans. In 1922 the church was again gutted by fire, only to be restored by architects Maxime Roisin and Raoul Chenevert.3
There is a mass everyday as far as I know, it was just beautiful to see. I thought that this Cathedral was large and beautiful until I went to see Ste, Anne de Beaupre Catherdral, now that was also impressive.
