Ever longing for the Emerald City…..

( I’ve posted two versions of this card. My original, and this one, which is the version that ended up going into production as a mainstream greeting card. They are very different pieces of art, even though the main subject – the girl – is the same.

As a professional artist, there will be times when people like the idea of your art, but want it altogether different. Your idea or intent might have been very meloncholy, and their idea is to make it joyous and bright. It is an interesting journey of learning lessons, to be sure. )

Aimee’s artwork has been featured in Advanced Photoshop Magazine, ImagineFX, and others. Her work can be found internationally as a greeting cards through Tree Free Greetings, cross stitch patterns through HAED, and jigsaw puzzles by such companies as Buffalo Games, Mega Puzzles, and more! These are now available at Walmart, Fred Meyer, and more. Aimee is currently working on her first children’s book featuring whimsical animals, slated for release in 2012.

  • Thank you so much Steve!! I just posted a journal about it too – would love to get some thoughts from others about it. I think it is a valuable discussion for artists who are either already licensing their work, or thinking about it!
