The most amazing thing is happening today! What I can only describe as a “Glitterstorm” has hit our valley.

You know how it looks when the wind blows fresh snow out of a tree on a sunny day, and it glitters so beautifully? Well – apparently the weather outside is just right, so that this phenomenon is happening throughout the whole valley. Glitter is forming out of a clear blue sky, and falling softly all around. Talk about gorgeous!

I can see that it is individual snowflakes glinting in the sun. I’ve tried taking a few pictures, but it doesn’t do it justice. The ones in this grouping were the best I could capture.

Aimee’s artwork has been featured in Advanced Photoshop Magazine, ImagineFX, and others. Her work can be found internationally as a greeting cards through Tree Free Greetings, cross stitch patterns through HAED, and jigsaw puzzles by such companies as Buffalo Games, Mega Puzzles, and more! These are now available at Walmart, Fred Meyer, and more. Aimee is currently working on her first children’s book featuring whimsical animals, slated for release in 2012.

I watched it last night, fantastic nature, only wish I could have been there to walk through snow in wonderment – regards Dave

  • Thank you Dave! It was so magical – truly a winter wonderland to walk through.

I think you caught it best as anyone could, in the video as well! I have seen fallen snow high in the Rockies at very cold temperatures turn into mounds of glitter, I call it Walt Disney snow!

  • Thank you Syd! “Walt Disney Snow” LOL! That is so perfect! It does look exactly like that. Sometimes you think it can’t be real it is so glittery and dazzling.

Today is shaping up to be promising too. It is currently -5 degrees, and the sun is just coming up, so the snow is now dazzling pink!!!

Actually made me tear up – I so miss this kind of snow from my childhood. It will be a part of my life again…some day.
