Shadows of the Family Tree
“Were laying in the shadow of your family tree
Your haunted heart and me
Brought down by an old idea whose time has come
And in the shadow of the gallows of your family tree
There’s a hundred hearts soar free…” – TV on the Radio

Soft, gorgeous greys, love the old-time feel to it, like it came out of a dream of a memory.
Foxfires replied
What a gorgeous way to describe it! Thank you Jan!

Like the hands of time
The shadow creeps steadily

Pleasing composition; timely reminder of how change comes to us all. Being necessary in life, we either accept or deny change, regardless time marches on.

Thank you so much! And what you say is true – I can’t help but think of the people who lived there at one time, and how my life intersects with that as I stand there and photograph what once was.

Wow, this is sublime. Can feel the rays even though it’s in BW… and I love the way the tree’s shadow cast on the house dominates. Beautiful work!
Foxfires replied
Thank you Billy! It was really a stunning day – and the only way to catch the shadow at that angle was to be there at sundown. Really quiet and peaceful out in the middle of nowhere…
billyboy
Did you ever find yer jaw btw?
Foxfires replied
Yeah – it was laying behind the Fender Strat there in that studio. LOL

I was so wondering about that when I tripped over it this morning… I swear I will glue it back EXACTLY the way it was and send it right off to ya! In the meantime, it`s a great opportunity to learn to drink through yer nose!!
