Captured near seven sisters, sussex
here is something different, not dramatic, fierce, endangered or cute, but your communal garden jackdaw. Nevertheless it belong to our wildlife and deserves the same respect and mention as any other more exotic, cuddly cutey or growling howling specie. In fact native american folklore admire the crow as being speical
Jackdaw is a small black crow with a grey neck and pale eyes.
It is sociable and usually seen in pairs or larger groups and feeds on insects seeds, but is also partial to a few scraps.
It is quite and acrobatic flier and flocks will often chase and tumble together in flight, but on the ground it hops and walks.
In fact he is quite a cheeky chappy

Nice shot, CJ! Jackdaws are rather pretty I think! What I’d give for hair that colour!!!! :o) Is it all snowy over your way? We had a few inches here and I’ve been trying to snap the birds in the snowy branches! We even had a Great Spotted Woodpecker visit the feeder! ;o)
Thank you Krys. Yes we had quite a bit of snow about 6 inches and ice underneath and tht is the killer literally All the roads where blocked due to accidents, the cars where sliding all over the place. A27 partially closed dpwn. It would have taken me at least 3 to 54 hours to get to work. so I opted for a day at home, hummdeedlilydum.
So I could go out and enjoy the snow….I luuuuuuuve snow
