Scottish Wildcat is sadly on the endangered list, mainly due to the persecution by Farmers and dilution of the bloodline with other specie of wild and domestic cats.
THERE ARE ONLY 400 GENUINE SCOTTISH WILD CATS LEFT
Betsy Seeton another wonderful photographer on Redbubble, who has just written a wonderful article about the Scottish Wildcat on her website.www.LiveHonestly.com.
Betsy’s website is a “Must Go and See” , with lots of fascinating and moving articles coupled with great pictures. Thank you Betsy
Wat a wonderful image CJ, I didn’t know about the Scottish Wildcat’s plight! I too hope something can be done to help them survive. Beautiful, beautiful picture!
Thank you again for your very supportive comment. I support your sentiment, for the success of survival
Wonderful image, I sure hope something is done to help them survive. Beautiful animal
Many thanks Rosalie for your lovely comment. There are asserted programms running to strengthen the population of this wildcat, but as always are met with opposition by the chattering farming lobby. The only thing they want to populate are farming animals en masse
He ALMOST looks like a “wild” cat here! They look rather too much like domestic moggies to me to get my admiration, but this is a really great shot! Well done! ;o)
Thank you Krys, much appreciated.
I agree, they can be easily mistaken for a domestic moggie, but I would not like to be bitten by one. Probably my hand , but certainly my fingers, would be snapped off with one bite.

This is a beautiful creature….. but I would not like to mess with her….. I have no doubt that they are as fierce as their bigger cousins!!
Yep they are fierce and wild. Some people have tried to tame them, but you can not take the wild out of them.
sadly they are becoming an endangered specie.
