Taken in the New Forest, Hampshire

  • Wildthing you make my heart sing*

New Forest wild Ponies, are wild and untamed and can roam freely since a Royal Charter decreed in the 9th century. They roam freely in the New Forest, Hampshire, England and have total right of passage even through private properties that are scattered throughout the forest.

The new Forest has been called that since the 5th centuary but has existed for nearly a million years.

    excelent capture of these magnificent creatures

  • Many Thanks John for your kind comment.
    Yes, we are very lucky that these wild ponies able to enjoy the freedom to roam wildly. If it was not for a Royal decree, these horses would no longer exist, as farming and encroachment by man would have made these wonderful creatures extinct.

    Hi CJ, I just checked on them and I’m going to bed, but I caught Ranger hanging upside down from the tire swing I put up for him and Bandit! I turned on the garage light and he had that “raccoon caught in the headlights” look:-}

  • HaHAHAHA – looks like Bandit got busted….lol

  • Thank you so much for your lovely comment.
    When I feel really low, I drive t the New Forest and new wild forest ponies and it immediately lifts my spirits.
    The Forest it is not that new, it is more than ten thousand years old, to watch the wildlife in particular the wild forest ponies.
