Captured in my garden in Somerset West, Western Cape, South Africa
A close friend of mine passed away on my birthday this year at the age of 31. Ever since the day he died I have had butterflies flutter around me. This week, I have seen the same butterfly every day and I managed to capture it today. It seemed to stay still long enough for me to do so. After that, when I got back to my office, there was another butterfly fluttering around me, which also seemed to allow me to capture it. The 4 photographs in this series are of these two butterflies. They mean a lot to me and are the first butterflies I have ever managed to photograph this closely.
