Away for a while

Many thanks for the attention that my shots have been getting – I’m just wanting to let you know that (depending on internet availability) this might well be my last login to RB for about 5 weeks – so I will probably be unable to respond to any comments or enter into or vote in any challenges over this period.

Whilst I’ll be deprived of the computer screen, I’ll be back to the camera trigger – the finger’s already getting itchy – might even get a shot at the flyin’-fishes as they play ….

regards to all

Werner

Challenge Winners 2013 onwards

This journal of my shots which have won first place in RedBubble challenges is meant primarily to keep records needed for the RB Elite Challenge Winners Club in the Challenge Winners Vault group – however, I’d be delighted if any visitor would like to browse around. I did hang in the Club’s top 10 for a couple of years, but just by the skin of my teeth. These were the club rankings on 24 February 2013, just before that skin gave way and I toppled off the list:

Old challenge wins before 24 February 2013 are listed here

Summary January - June 2016

I’d like to express my thanks for the support I’ve received during this half year. In particular, I want to thank the group hosts who so kindly featured any of my photography during the last six months and to all members who came to look at my work and perhaps even found some to favour – THANK YOU!

As I mentioned in previous posts, it’s a real credit to you who continue to persevere with the Redbubble site. I’ve found it too time-consuming to wait for all the wheels on the various merchandise items to stop spinning and then to try and figure out into which groups to enter an image when one now only has a postage stamp sized window in which to see the groups. And that’s not to mention the dominant links aimed to take viewers away from seeing one’…

January - June 2015 Roundup

I like to express my thanks to the group hosts who so kindly featured any of my photography during the last six months and to all members who came to look at my work and perhaps even found some to favour – THANK YOU!

It’s a real credit to you people who continue to persevere in the face of the ever-changing Redbubble site. I’ve knuckled under and now no longer post new works on this site – it’s too bothersome and time-consuming waiting for all the wheels on the various merchandise items to stop spinning and then to try and figure out into which groups to enter an image when one now only has a postage stamp sized window in which to see the groups. And that’s not to mention the dominant links aimed to take viewers away from seeing one’s work. Ho…

Happy New Year and safe holidays!

I’d like to wish all my viewers and all the hosts of the numerous groups to which I belong a very happy New Year 2015 and, if you’re travelling on holidays, a very safe holiday! A BIG thankyou for all the support (views, comments, favs, votes and features) over the last year.

In particular, many thanks for the features during November & December which I’ve listed below.

As I explained in a previous journal, many of the images which I have included on my profile page and in journals do not display (at least that’s so with my browser). I don’t know what the problem is and I can only apologise if, when you see the following list, there are entries which display the title and list the features, but do not show any image.

The group features were:

Green Bar

Aug-Sep-Oct 2014 Roundup

I like to express my thanks to the group hosts who so kindly featured any of my photography during the last three months and to all members who came to look at my work and perhaps even found some to favour – THANK YOU!

I have found that in the last week or so many of my images which I had displayed on my profile page and in journals have stopped displaying. I don’t know what the problem is – I assume RB has again changed some settings. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to investigate the cause or to amend the description of each non-displaying image. Hence, the following list includes entries without a displaying image, just the image titles, a reference number and the credits achieved over the last 3 months.

The group features were:

Sunrise over Cristo Rei

June-July 2014 Roundup and a word on slide scanning

I like to express my thanks to the group hosts who so kindly featured any of my photography during this June and July and to all members who came to look at my work and perhaps even found some to favour – THANK YOU!

During the last month or I have been going through thousands of my old slides. Scanning them would take more lifetimes than are available to me, so I am instead re-photographing them using my Nikon D800E (35 mega pixels) a bellows arrangement and a flash. I use manual exposure, so sometimes I take a couple of shots of a slide to get the exposure more or less Ok, but the whole process takes only about 2-3 seconds, hence I can hope to get through all my slides in the near future.

I had intially thought of this process as a screening process to be followed by scanning a f…
