I originally headed with my long lens to the southern end of the San Francisco’s Embarcadero to see if one of the America’s Cup racing cats was out in the bay. After waiting a few hours and seeing nothing, I decided with the nice incoming cloud cover I saw while at the Embarcadero, that it was going to be a nice sunset. So I walked over to the municipal pier at the end of Van Ness and waited. I didn’t have to wait too long BUT it was unfortunate I was expecting to record an AC72 so I had only my Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5 IS L lens with a Tamron 1.4 teleconverter on my Canon EOS 7D and didn’t bring a shorter lens. sigh – I wonder if it was worth it…. I saw many others with shorter and wide-angle lens and was instantly envious!
