An unique and original idea by Leo Villareal uses LED lights strung on the vertical cables of the western span of the San Francisco Bay Bridge (the span east of Yerba Buena Island is the Oakland side), and while testing of the LEDs are in progress now, the main show starts officially March 5, 2013 and will then continue each night for two years! WoW! What a challenging but creative idea and I am happy to see San Francisco involved in The BayLights Project and I’m sure you as well as many others will be wowed by the light-show as I was tonight! WoW! This image taken with my Canon EOS 7D with a Tokina AT-X Pro SD 12-24 f/4 (IF) DX lens doesn’t do it justice. The patterns and varied designs swim across the span from one tower to another… and a still image doesn’t show any of the patterns. I hope this will give you the desire to go out and see it; it’s well worth it! See my very short video of it below.

This is a very short (29secs) recorded handheld with my Samsung tablet. It will give you an idea of the lovely designs and patterns of the LED light-show/display!
