Recently I was by the Golden Gate Bridge and saw this little hummingbird, a delightful surprise for many visitors to the City who wouldn’t expect to see a hummingbird during their short duration in the San Francisco Bay Area. Little do they know that even the City has a variety of birds, even in the downtown area! Unedited and shot with a heavy handheld Canon EOS 7D with Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5 IS L lens

Such vibrant colours. I’ve never seen a hummingbird and would never have expected to see one in SF.

  • hey buddy IF you get back to SF and I am here will take you to a spot certain of several viewings. very difficult with a DSLR i’d say close-to-impossible with a point&shoot but know you’d get a better snap than me!! have seen them at Crookedest Street, Union Square, in residencial areas throughout, Washington Square and even Coit Tower!
