In Marin County, California again for a few days, I found and could clearly hear the drilling sounds made by Acorn Woodpeckers nearby. I am always happy to see them – I have such little time with nature living in San Francisco but the SF Bay Area is filled with so many green areas which provide breeding areas and habitat for so many birds, fish and other wildlife. I love how in less than an hour’s drive, one can see so much wildlife that is normally typical of country-living. Within 10 minutes of capturing this Acorn Woodpecker, I saw several deer and other birds! Being C-Day I thought these were the best holiday-visitors one could have! When I snapped this image, it had just started to pour, resulting in the vertical lines which is slightly blurring the otherwise fabulous background bokeh.
