recorded earlier this year during Rota, Spain Semana Santa celebrations. processions of nazarenos of the different church brotherhoods take to the streets daily in the days leading up to Easter Sunday.
during these processions, i love seeing details, and candles are always a favorite of mine. always fascinated by the color and the flame, I look for a nazareno as they stand quietly resting with his candle, some which measure up to three feet in length, and i’ll focus on the flame. i guess it’s a strange and humorous scene as others watch as i try to capture that candle flame, moving back and forth, following the candle flame. this was captured in an unposed scene, wind and motion all playing factors in this image
