I’ve only been to Santorini and Rhodes, I loved Santorini where the landscape was amazing, most of it unspoilt, and amazing light, but was not too excited by Rhodes, too touristy in a bad way. I don’t know where to visit next! – somewhere not touristy, calm, traditional, beautiful, where there is plenty of things to see/visit…,Any suggestion? :)

Any island is wonderful when you go on July or June or September.
August is the worst month for vacation because of the huge number of tourists.
I have visited Santorini twice, one on Easter holidays and one during the first days of July, and it was amazing and not crowdy at all!
You should visit: Ikaria island (traditional, no touristic, great seascapes), Samothraki island (the same and magical), Skopelos island ( trees meet beautiful clear water), Naxos island (amazing beaches,food, villages, town),Samos island(traditional and green), Corfu island(everything), Lefkada island (amazing seascapes, magical waters), Keffalonia island(everything), Zakynthos island (everything),Crete (great island -has everything), Chios island (traditional, you could see the mastic trees which live only there) , Mitilini Island (traditional and beautiful), Skyros(traditional)...Peloponese/Mani (beautiful villages, nature, sea), South Evia island (everything-stay in Karystos town, the capital)...and there are many-many more!!!

Thank you so much Fotonio, I take careful note, It’s a bit difficult from Britain in a way, because some of the Islands are put forward or more accessible by plane etc…, and they are not the best, you know what British tourists can be like, My experience of Rhodes was end of July – I never go on Holidays in August or July usually, but I was between two jobs- very touristy, lots of people just there to drink, too hot, too crowded, and I think the west of the Island is best, the east is terrible… Apart from ONE restaurant, the chef was a woman from Athens and she was doing the food herself, it was really something!! Her Halva is the best I have ever eaten!! (not the dry and white one, it was moist and brown!!!)

By the wasy, there are the photos I took in Santorini. I took them with a 2Mp camera, brandless at the time, with the idea to go back later with a better camera (I had back problems at the time and could not afford to carry something heavy. So the quality is not very good, but the light on the island was so great the photos still came out fine! :)

The brown halva is very popular in Greece and yes, it can be delicious!!!
Rhodes is a big island, you should visit more traditional and less croudy islands to get the feeling of relaxation.There are also very small islands not very promoted in tourist guides, and they are beautiful.

Greece is also beautiful by winter, you should also visit the mainland with the villages on the mountains and rivers…it’s something unique and Greeks know it well, but unfortunatelly we don’t promote it too much.On the other hand it is better because that way villages keep the tradition, wonderful nature and tranquillity!

Yes Some friends of mine(They are greeek :) have sent me photos of themselves skying in the mountains, I would love to go :)))
It is a good thing that it’s not promoted, it stays unspoilt. :) I can’t ski but I would love to go there in the winter, It’s on my list of travels (it’s long but I’ll do it all :)))))
