Well, I finally painted and mounted the tuna mosaic shared previously. The final piece is 40 inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm) by 32 inches. This photo was taken with a Nikon D90 DSLR and a Sigma 17-70 mm lens in our family room. The photo was cropped and colors corrected in PaintShop Pro. The mosaic was created on thin cement board with painted pieces of surf clam seashells except for the light part of the body, the shells are natural. The fin is coming out about 4 inches and is made from 2 oyster shells. All the shells for this project were gathered in Cape May, New Jersey, USA. The background was painted with acrylics using various shape sponge brushes.
