Christopher ‘Fotog’ Chouinard is an artist (& retired photographer) born and raised in Detroit MI, now living in Southern California. Working under the pseudonym Fotog Ink, he has been published in magazines including Rolling Stone,Guitar World, Juxtapoz, N.M.E.(New Music Express), G.Q. and various newspapers including The Detroit News, Real Detroit and Virginia Pilot as Staff photographer. Christopher has contributed artwork for numerous music albums and singles, including The Detroit Cobras ‘Tied Up’, The Paybacks ‘Harder and Harder’ among them. Two books featuring his photography were released by Artnik Books on ‘The Strokes’ and ‘My Chemical Romance’ for release in the U.K. (email me to purchase limited edition books).
An alumni of The College For Creative Studies in Detroit, Christopher’s paintings reflects his classic Detroit roots, while bringing a modern pop sensibility. 2007 marked a returned to painting when he retired from photography, focusing on pop art and portraits. Most recently, during the past two years he has begun tattooing, and is welcome to emails regarding freelance commission work in any medium.
Christopher’s work has been shown at C-Pop Art Gallery in Detroit, as well as Wall’s Gallery in Norfolk, Renewal Norfolk 2009, Redstar Escapist Art 2009 and JC Gallery, Oceanside CA 2009 – 2010 as well as various local Starbucks & galleries.
