I love the Touch-Me-Not plant. Why did it get that name when it really loves to be touched? When the kids were little we would hike and look for this plant and gently touch its seeds and giggle as the tiny coils flung out new life. Its other name is Jewel Weed and each little water droplet shines like a diamond on the plant in the early morning. Well then on practical side, the native Americans crushed its succulent leaves and stems as a cure for poison ivy. Impatiens capensis, 2-5 feet, wet, shady places.
