Excellent – I would love to be able to take a photo like that. It is very helpful to read the settings you used. I will take a note and have a go! Moorhen
I can’t follow your settings as of yet-but will take a mental note when? my new lens is purchased! This is wonderful How incredible to get a picture of a shiny eye on a bee!
Thanks Randi! Probably the most important setting was a fast shutter speed. If you can control that, the rest might fall into place too :-) Oh, and if you like catchlights in their eyes, you may also like Smiling Bee
Oh yes, Smiling Bee is delightful, and thanks so much for the tip! I actually got an eye glint bee picture this morning and it will soon be posted…I might bubblemail you to get your crtiique. You are extremely helpful.
As beautiful as this is, I am almost more impressed by the handheld mention. Even with the fast ss, this is remarkably clear and lovely. George Swan can hold a camera steady, too. Great work.
Thanks Jan – and thanks for the link to George’s work
fabulous, congrats on a great hand-held capture….. I was just out snapping bees this morning (and did not get one sharp one….Duh!!) and I know how hard it can beeeee…..!!
