Sometimes all it takes is a little sunshine and the right angle to bring out the beauty of even the most mundane black bird. The Common Grackle is often viewed as a pest and a bully around the feeders and bird baths, but even they have a beauty all their own.
Taken at the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary in Green Bay, WI.
Nice shot here, will admit he is very colorful with the right lighting, also he is very much a pain in the neck at my bird feeders kicking all the seed out then leaving until I fill them agin so he can only kick it out again. What he is missing is a pellet in the head.
Thanks Tim. On most days they are loud and obnoxious. They bully all the smaller birds at the feeders but I could not pass up this shot with all that color.

Beautiful shot.. These guys are considered a pain but they are beautiful birds.. Brenda
They are a pain but sometimes they are the only ones at the feeders. I’m happy with how this one turned out. Thanks again.
