Slipping Beauty

Slipping Beauty belongs to the following groups:

All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical

‘I am a beautiful flower dancing in the warm breeze’

I can’t come over and visit with you. You make me sneeze

‘I am a majestic mountain whose peak stands proud and tall’

You know I can’t climb you. I am afraid I might fall

‘I am a powerful ocean filled with beauty and wonder’

You know I cannot explore you. What if I get pulled under?

‘I am the sun. Come outside and feel my warmth on your skin’

How could I do such a thing with all the strife I am in?

‘I am a homeless man; please take my trembling hand’

I’m not you. How could you expect me to understand?

‘I am the rainbow that crosses the sky after the rain’

I’m too busy to notice. Every day seems the same

‘I am the child who just looked and smiled at you’

I would smile right back if I had a reason to

‘I am your self-esteem. Can you sense my touch?’

I don’t care about you. I don’t need a crutch

‘I am your God. Can you not feel me?’

I do not believe in what I can’t see

‘If I do not exist, where does this conflict come from?’

I’m sorry. To this trickery I shall not succumb
