I can’t believe how quickly and how deeply I developed an affinity for taking photos.
I never really messed around with photography before digital cameras came around — I always thought it too costly, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. The thought of paying for film and processing with no idea of what you were ending up with really frightened me.
In 2003, I got a cheap-o necklace digi-cam from a rewards program, and really had fun with it, even though it had no flash, no LCD and no quality.
In 2004, I couldn’t take it anymore and I decided I wanted a “real” camera. My hubby bought me a 3.2 megapixel HP photosmart camera. I was in love!
I upgraded to a little nicer camera, a Canon PwerShot A620, in 2006.
I am still having so much fun! I create reasons to go out and take photos, and I attend events so I can take photos, really any excuse will do!
I don’t claim to know what I’m doing, technically speaking, but I sure do enjoy shooting what I see! I’ve never taken a class, or had any sort of professional or formal exposure to photography — Maybe someday I’ll actually take a class or go through some sort of formal photography training, but right now I’m really enjoying improving through the advice and observations of other photographers and artists, and by teaching myself via the internet.
I’d love for you to share your thoughts!
