I made this piece as a companion piece to The Gem Mine
. These were both made as a tribute to Dr. Seuss. Specifically, it is an homage to a painting of his called Minor-Cat Miner In A High Yield Emerald Mine.
Where The Gem Mine is a big, sprawling flurry of tendrils of color, this piece serves as a sort of zooming in on the mine, and revealing the Cat Miner hard at work inside one of the gem-laden veins.
