I began in the 70’s, photographing my friends surfing, with dreams of travelling the world chasing waves in exotic locations. Occasionally images were published in Australian and US surf magazines. I have been a full time professional since 1986 – mostly in the corporate, tourism and landscape fields.
While I grew up in Newcastle, Australia I now live in Balmoral – a beautiful suburb on the north shore of Sydney Harbour. Just down the street there is a white sandy beach with plenty of natural bushland going down to the rocky shoreline nearby. It’s easy to forget that you are just a 10 minute ferry ride away from Australia’s biggest city.
I make photographs hoping to catch some small parcels of light and time and then share them around. My work these days is created using both digital capture and traditional film.
I also enjoy traveling and staying a while in one place to give me time to better appreciate the people, environment and how the local light “works”. You can find out more when you visit my blog
I make a range of limited edition prints using a large format Canon printer which I sell through my website, selected galleries and exhibitions. While the signed limited edition prints are only available at these outlets all of the many other pictures are available through my redbubble site.
I am slowly adding to my range of cards and prints on display here but if you visit the stock library at lightmoods.com.au and see an image you would like as a card, print or poster just bubblemail me the file number and I’ll upload it to redbubble.
I am excited about being part of the redbubble community and hope you enjoy looking at some of my pictures.
