For Nolan – “Map Rock” doesn’t look like much today! Maybe 10,000 years ago, I bet it was impressive in a greener world!
Oh I should point out the ICE AGES melted around 12,000 years ago around here and Mammoth and saber-tooth tigers wandered around. Extinction is forever. I always wanted a mammoth; but feeding it or corralling it would have been a challenge!
Saber-tooth would have been easier to photo; as they didn’t climb trees! They ran fast on the ground, at you?

Dave Sandersfeld start his career in 1970 as a US Forest Service “Wilderness Ranger” in the Frank Church/River of No Return Wilderness Area in central Idaho – the largest in Continental USA!

Dave Has retired now as a US National Park Ranger/Interpreter @ the John Day Fossil Beds Nat’l Monument in Eastern Oregon.

He continues to walk the mountains now searching for clues of understanding on the relationship between Nature & human kind.
