BLACK WIDOW SPIDER
A drive-by poem by Flyrod
On a backcountry road rests a dormant black truck
Approach it with caution and don’t push your luck
The fogged over window hides a secret inside
The corps of a driver who took his last ride
He bought this new toy only three days ago
It bore a dark history that he didn’t know
He wasn’t the first; in fact there were seven
Who with him reside in car lover’s heaven.
Curvaceous fenders and a plunging front grill
Gave many a man a heart pounding thrill
The seat belt and harness would hold him in place
While the Edelbrook motor was setting the pace
No crushed metal or sharp broken glass
No asphyxiation from vapors or gas
A little pinprick from the back of the seat
Into his veins the venom would seep
When the Ford was rebuilt with new paint and chrome
An eight-legged female would make it her home
She lusted for men and into their heart
She lunged with a sharpened little black dart
As the lifeless body sat there beside her
Her work was complete, that Black Widow Spider
Beautiful work! Love it!!!
Thanks a million Vigor.

Great to see your poetry back, superb image. Bit confused about the bonnet mascot, it looks like one off an old Jaguar.
The ornament on the radiator is a grayhound. Common on Ford cars of that erea but I’m not sure the came standard on trucks. Thanks anyway my friend, and Happy New Year.
