THE PARTNERSHIP A Drive-by Poem by Flyrod

A road in a valley and a beautiful car
Nature surrounds it so near and so far

Man made the car to give him mobility
But without the land he has no tranquility

The goal for man is to fulfill all his need
To partner with nature will help him succeed

The man who thinks nature is his for the taking
Must come to realize the mistake he is making

Man is on the move and in a great hurry
The result of his actions cause him no worry

Like a hare and a tortes in a great race
Nature and man have a different pace

Formations of rock are carved oh so slow
By the wayward wind and the sand it will blow

A new car rolls from the factory floor
One every minute and then one more

Man and nature, what an unlikely pair
What is their future, how will they fair?

Together is the only way both can win
Denying this truth is the greatest sin

That which you sew you also shall reap
A simple code and one we must keep

About flyrod

The name’s Flyrod. American car culture is my thing. If it rolls, roars, or rumbles I’m into it. Statistics and facts aren’t my gig. My mission is to track down and capture the infamous rides that make up pop culture, and to tell their stories.

1937 Ford convertible photographed at a show in Cosa Grande, Arizona. The background is Valley of the Gods, a scenic sandstone valley near Mexican Hat in San Juan County, Southeastern Utah.
