HOOCHIE COOCHIE GUCCI A Drive-by Poem by Flyrod

I’m a Baby Boomer born in fifty-five
When Rock and Roll was starting to thrive

When Chevy’s and Ford’s were setting the pace
My maker focused on another place

My interior was designed my a man named Gucci
It made all the chicks get wild and smoochy

While the big block Chevy’s packed a real bark
Lookout point is the place I would park

Susie and Betty and Barbara Ann
Couldn’t get enough of their Chrysler man

I owe my success to that designer named Gucci
No car could get you more hoochie coochie

While other guys raced down the quarter mile
I got all the girls and cruised them in style.

I’m a Chrysler Windsor being reborn
Guys just don’t get it they see me and scorn

Men raise their hood and say they compete
While the honey’s are focused on my back seat

I’m rusty now but I’m getting restored
For a soon-to-be senior who’ll never be bored

He’ll take me to shows where the guys will ignore me
While the fun-loving girls will simply adore me

I’m a Chrysler Windsor let me repeat
Oh by the way, did you see my back seat?

Original image from the 2012 Barret Jackson autu auction in Scottsdale Arizona. This was a great opportunity to see some great cars, but the worst posible situation for photographing them. This car was under a tent with light flooding in from the outside. because this was a “project Car” with a rust and primer mat finish there were no reflections to deal with. By increasing the hue, opening shadows and highlights, and selective coloring I was able to create an image that has some life in it. This is a case where the lighting imbalance from inside to outside of the tent created an oportunity. The car really did have a interior designed by Gucci.
