•THE NIGHT CREEPER• a drive-by poem by Flyrod
Nobody was safe on any Miami Street
Try as they may the cops could bring no heat
A Pontiac Sedan came cruising into town
Looking for trouble wherever it was found
Slouched behind the wheel was a creepy little man
Looking to be thrilled whatever way he can
A pistol and a spyglass were the tools of his trade
Looking through your window is how his patience paid
Violence was never part of his M.O.
The thing that thrilled him most was putting on a show
He measured his success by the volume of a scream
His victims must have thought they were waking from a dream
He never touched a sole but seven now are dead
He scared then all to hell is what the papers said
When word got out the city could not rest
Till justice put an end to this dirty little pest
They found his fingerprints on a dresser drawer
Scientific proof, no need to look for more
They took him down to Gainesville and locked him away.
The dirty little pervert was gonna have to pay
In two months he got free, he busted out of jail,
A posse combed the state but searches all would fail
The years passed by and they never found a trace
All the folks in Florida were familiar with his face
They never ever caught him, most people know his name
Nothing is Miami has ever been the same
His ghost is still around, his name was Elwood Streep
The terror of Miami, the dirty little creep
1939 pontiac, sedan, miami, night, film noir, antique, car, automobile, classic
