Oil on 9 pieces of shale.

J.B.S. Haldane once said, when asked what would falsify the fossil record of evolution: “Fossil rabbits in the Precambrian”.

Interesting, I like the whole concept of painting on rocks. Brings eons of history into the present. I’m not sure what kind of loop you’ve created here but I’m liking it!

  • Thank you Brandon!

Painting on slate and shale is interesting, but it totally kills your brushes.

This painting appeared in the book Geology in Art by Andrea Baucon.

Fascinating work, Glendon, a truly unique point of view. We also do medical illustration, though a little more standard than yours . . . don’t put it up much at redbubble, just on our website.

  • Thank you both!

You may enjoy this moderated session I was a part of at ScienceOnline. Myself, anthropologist/artist John Hawks and paleo-nut/graphic designer David Orr talking about art & science.
