Vale my good old friend

Posted 9 months ago

I’m saddened this week to have to say goodbye to a friend who’s been at my side and in my hands for a significant proportion of my photographic learning curve.

My Canon 20D (affectionately known as “my camera”) finally activated its last shutter release last weekend, doing what it knew best … nailing the exposure and focus whilst I struggled with the question of how …

My challenge to YOU, for charity

Posted about 2 years ago

It’s that time of year… when I’m allowing my hair to slowly grow (not that I have a lot to start with!), so that in March I get to shave it all of for a great cause.

I ask that EVERYONE who reads this journal to help out in one of three ways:

1) sponsor me here

2) buy some art or a T-shirt from me here at RedBubble – I’m donating 100% of my profits to the Leukaemia F…

I'm celebrating! - A limited time offer

Posted about 2 years ago

Not many of you know that I underwent a Bone Marrow Transplant a few years ago – and joined RB soon after.

Well, it’s exactly 3 years to the day sice the tranplant and I’m celebrating.

One way to share the love – I’ve drastically reduced my % on ALL my images/Tshirts for a limited one week only.

A couple of my photos from 3 years ago …

Thanks to all those who…

I don’t write journals often.

It’s not that I don’t like to write … I certainly do.
.. and it’s not that I don’t like to share …. again, I enjoy this too.

It’s that for far too long, I’ve been juggling with too many balls in the air.

A bit like snorkeling in a beautiful reef – taking a deep breath and then staying underwater for as lon…

Fancy a photo walk around Brunswick?

I’ve been selected to guide a photo walk in Brunswick for “Scott Kelby’s 2nd annual Worldwide Photo Walk”.

Date: 18th July 2009
Where/what: a casual social and photographic stroll in/around Brunswick, starting and ending in Sydney Road.
Times? – 3.30pm until 6pm (I’m likely to be kicking on at the Retreat Hotel afterward).
Who?

Hit me with your best shot

Inspired by the stories and images here, I thought I’d write about this image, my favourite personal photo.

The Two of Us

I met my wife, Sarah, during a skydiving course – we’ve both loved the outdoors and sense of adventure.
We fell in love.
After growing closer to each other, we planned a 4 day bushwalk in the Bogong High Plains National Park.
I had planned to propose to her dur…

Lost: hair. Found: warm fuzzy feeling

After announcing my participation in this year’s Leukaemia Foundation’s
“World’s Greatest Shave” a couple of week’s ago to family and friends, I’ve been remiss in passing on the details for those who wish to donate to this fantastic cause on the Bubble.

For those who are unaware, I was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia in 2005 and then underwent a b…
