Castello Di Amorosa by flyfish70

Currently unavailable for purchase

HDR of Castello Di Amorosa in Napa Valley. This castle is owned by Dario Sattui (Also the owner of V. Sattui winery). He came up with the dream of this place 17 years ago, and after 15 years of building, and traveling Italy for the stones to make the castle with (all but a few of the stones are from other castle ruins in Italy) it finally oppened a couple years ago. The castle is over 120,000 square feet, and is built in exact detail of how it would have been built in the days of castles. Back then it would have taken you over 60 years to do, Dario did (by hand the way it was done back then) in only 15 years. Pretty astonishing feet when you walk through the castle and look at the detail. In some of the photos you will see red brick, all of them were made over 200 years ago. The roof tiles are made by bending clay over a woman’s thigh…but over 200 years ago. The place is amazing and if you are ever in Napa Valley, CA I suggest you stop and take a look at this place. This was my second time going, and it is still very mind-blowing to see. I will be posting this and a few other photos, hope you enjoy.

Beautiful shot….I’m so sad I missed this. I would love to go through it again. Such a great place to visit……another excellent shot and work!!!

  • Well, the next time you come out, we will go see it again. I think we are all trying to think of when to go again, maybe before I leave, maybe when I get back. We all had such an awesome time, the castle tour was well worth the trip down to see it. Thank you very much for your comment and the fav!!!!!
