So Hopper and you shared a part of history; that is great. I like Hopper. The lonelyness in his work is almost scary, but it also is exactly like I feel right now. Completely abandoned. I have got your email but too lazy (and depressed) to write. Will do an effort as soon as I can. madvlad over 4 years ago martin, yes,i,ve never met him, but, i have met quite a few people, you have heard of, when you write me, and i can write you back,i might share some of my strange meeting with people, but i want to keep it private you know?i have traveled quite a bit?sorry your down just now, that i can understand, you have a lot on you, more later peace to your soul Martin Derksema over 4 years ago I sent you an email immediately. There is nothing I like so much as strange meetings with people. Tell me all about it. Remember the nightclub scene from Steppenwolf of Herman Hesse? Weird people with masks, entrance only for fools. Sounds like our night out, Walt! Herman understood us. madvlad over 4 years ago i,ll email you martin annacuypers over 4 years ago Martin, hi, thanks for sharing this beautiful video. It was a joy to look and listen. Hope all is allright with you. So sad to read that you are feeling lonely and depressed. If you feel the need to write about it , I’m a good listener but I also understand that you don’t feel like writing. Wish I could say something that would comfort you. I know it is a cliché but please don’t forget there are still beautiful things to do and see. After rain there always will be sunshine. Love and big hugs, anna xxoPs. Do you know the new Leonard Cohen album ? Maybe you will like it, you can find it on you tube… Martin Derksema over 4 years ago Hi Anna, good to see you and thanks for your warm response. I will write you soon, because I can do with a good listener. (I am a good listener too but I have heard myself so often already.) Good old Leonard is still going strong isn’t he? I’ll send you an email, might take a day or two. Love and hugs! minou41 over 4 years ago Dear Martin thank your for sharing this beautiful video but you are right about the loneliness in this video it stirs up feelings of melancholy. I hope you feel better soon you are such a creative person you need to nourish your mind and soul with uplifting Art and writing it saddens me that you feel lonely and depressed. Love and Light my friend. Martin Derksema over 4 years ago Dear Renate, thanks for coming by. I think Hopper is an incredible painter. His technique is amazing and in one painting he writes a whole novel. Thanks for your comforting words too. Well, what can I say? Life can also hit you too hard and for too long. I am in the same trouble as Job. Lost everything. But I haven’t got his faith. Love and light to you too, Renate. Rusty Gladdish over 4 years ago Hello Martin! Sorry to hear you’re feeling down. I loved the video and felt that Satie’s music enhanced the melancholia and otherness of Hopper’s paintings. However, I’m sure you will feel the sun in your eyes and hope it will warm your soul and draw you out of that dark place soon. Love from Rusty and SimonXXXXX Martin Derksema over 4 years ago Hi Rusty! Yeah, the music fits very well to his work, doesn’t it. Normally I think it is very dangerous when musicians do jazzy interpretations of classical music, but in this case it turnes out very well. Thanks a million for your encouragement; it will all help to get me out of there. Love from Martin and send my regards to Simon! madvlad over 4 years ago martin, painting no, 5 and 14 are my home town,14 is a bridge i used ti hand line off off, on the white walk way in the middle of the painting, actually a waif rat bit my finger on that bridge,as a kid , see haHA i,ve been every where walt Wendi Donaldson Laird almost 4 years ago What a treat to find this!!!
