I think that’s one of the great conundrums (conundra?) of human society, the great catch 22. We shouldn’t need weapons, but there will always be lunatics on a power trip of some sort, who will stay “get stuffed, I’m keeping mine” or “look no weapons”, then when everyone else has got rid of theirs, produce one from nehind their back, and so the cycle starts again.
Yes I agree. And so long as the world keeps producing people who care more about their own personal wealth/power than other people, I doubt this will ever cease.
