This is a Southern Magnolia/grandiflora.
It is 8 inches in diameter (20cm) and it has a powerful lemony fragrance. These grow at the end of the tree branch. They have 3 sepals and 6-12 petals.
The Sepals look simular to the pedals, so it is hard to locate them sometimes.

I became interested in photography at an early age, focusing mostly on Macro images. Later, I expanded to a wider range of subjects after discovering the wonderful photographers on Redbubble.
I have been inspired by many excellent photographers here on Redbubble, and have found myself broadening my range in subjects. I do love Macro work, for it brings the small delicate details out in an image. Nature has become even more interesting when viewing it up close.
