Anne Pearson

Hi, my name is Anne, I am 46, & have been married to Stuart for 21 years. I love reading – I adore the Lord of the Rings , wildlife & nature, & various arts & crafts. I have been drawing for a number of years, & although I took art at school, I am pretty much self taught, especially after starting Encaustic a couple of years ago. After taking a break I have recently returned to Encaustic Art & am experimenting to find my own technique & style.
Encaustic wax is a wonderful medium to work with. Many of my pictures are based on or inspired by real places, though the use of melted wax adds a different element to the pictures, & means the pieces will never be photographic representations. It also means although the idea behind the pieces can be copied, each piece will still be individual to some extent & original, the wax can never be laid down exactly the same twice.
If you give the wax & your imagination free reign, you can create some wonderful abstract & fantasy pieces.
