Snippet From Dave Chihuly's 'End Of The Day' Tower

Dave Chihuly’s first ‘End Of The Day’ sculpture was made during the Chihuly Over Venice Project in 1995, where the final chandelier was made out of the various colored parts not used in the other chandeliers. Thus it was made at the ‘end of the day.’

Chihuly was the only non-Italian ever to work with the Italian glassblowers of the Island of Murano. These artists had the tradition of taking the left over pieces of glass to make a sculpture.

Chihuly’s ‘End Of The Day’ tower (2005) was donated to Fairchild by the Clinton Family Fund. (Location: Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Coral Gables, Florida).

(Photographer’s Note From Wikipedia) Dale Chihuly, born September 20, 1941 in Tacoma, Washington, is a Slovak American glass sculptor and entrepreneur.
