Blue-winged kookaburra, not to be confused with the more famous laughing kookaburra! These kookas are found in the northern part of Australia, and are smaller than their laughing counterparts. They also have a very different call. I also noticed that compared to their bodies, their heads seem disproportionately large.

Nitmiluk National Park, Northern Territory, Australia.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, 75 – 300 mm lens + Kenko Extender.
