Azulejo are painted ceramic tiles that are a characteristic feature of Portuguese architecture. The azulejo panel on the side of the Igrejo do Carmo in Porto is a beautiful thing to behold, and depicts the founding of the Carmelite order, an order of the Catholic Church. The Igreja do Carmo was built in the 18th Century. I took a wide shot just to show what the building looks like, but also took several shots focusing on parts of the azulejo panel just to give more of an idea of the detail.

Fantastic shot – I love the two people in the bottom that is repeated by the line of tiled people on the top who are looking in the opposite direction. Great framing!
Thanks for your lovely comments Michelle! And there’s also quite a bit of contrast between their styles of dress too ;)
