Actually, the design of the old cameras is different to modern cameras…the lens is at a right angle to the viewfinder, which means you’re not actually really pointing it at anyone per se (ie, you look down through the viewfinder in order to see the subject in front of you). Also, the camera and housing aren’t that big…so it’s really not too intrusive. Just looks a bit odd is all! :)
