A woman stares up at the wall of a car park in Toronto, as if trying to work out what the image on it meant. No, I didn’t understand what it meant either! I did love its abstract quality however.

Great Shot Ursula!
Ursula Rodgers replied
Thanks Nathalie! :)

I can’t stop going back to it trying to interpret what I see. There’s a hand giving a fish to someone (to the man in the portrait, or is it his hand?) Is the fish to illustrate the proverb that giving a man a fish will feed him for a day? It might also be the old symbol of Christianity. I dunno…
Great capture in any case, and I love that the woman is there, looking at it. :-)
Ursula Rodgers replied
Jo, your guess is as good as mine! (well, actually better, because at least you had a guess!). I saw it from afar and just had to get over to it to have a better look! Lucky for me the woman in my shot turned up at the same time, and showed an interest in it :)

Love the title and the moment – Maybe the point is that each of us is supposed to interpreted differently? Great shot Ursula.
Ursula Rodgers replied
Thanks George! I am definitely all for ‘open’ interpretation. What I love about any kind of visual art is the impression it gives different people, and how they respond to it as an individual :)
Vikram Franklin
Yep – that would be me there standing there, staring and wondering too!!
What is it??
Great ‘moment’ of capture Ursula!
Ursula Rodgers replied
Thankyou Vikram!! Me, I was attracted to the contrast between colour and black and white when I saw this :) It wasn’t until I got closer that I started wondering what it might mean!

Oh, Ive looked at this long and hard and my mind is saying to me this is someone who attempted to break free of something, but keeps being held back. first breaking through the door, Only to find his own conscience has laid a rope there, to keep him in. Its the only thing that is in my head. Wonder if I am close?
Ursula Rodgers replied
I think this could represent different ideas to different people, but I love your interpretation of it Ric, as I can see what you see :)

.....Is it, there’s this old man (obviously Russian) and he’s been wallpapering his lounge (with that horrible patterned paper) while eating his tea. When he’s finished, he notices a lump in the wallpaper. He goes over to it and tears a piece back, and lo & behold one of the fishes from his tea has somehow got trapped under the wallpaper!
Great image by the way! It’s like an abstract with-in an abstract!
Ursula Rodgers replied
LOL! It could very easily be that as well…he he he he! Love it ;) Glad you like the image too…aren’t you glad I posted it?

is the person in poster…albert einstein?

Ursula Rodgers replied

The photo is nice anyway, but the collage has me totally stumped. So fragmented and the guy is so swarthy I’m almost scared to keep looking. Photo works! Nice one Ursula.
Ursula Rodgers replied
Cheers! I know what you mean…I stood there looking at it thinking ‘huh’? Then I thought the longer I kept looking at it, the more chance of making some sense of it. It didn’t happen ;)
Barbara Glatzeder
lol, I stared so hard to see what it actually was that I totally missed the woman and the car! :-))) Very strange indeed. Is all of that painted on that wall?
Ursula Rodgers replied
LOL! It certainly was! Don’t worry, even when I was there it was still messing with my head!
