I wasn’t sure about uploading this one but I decided to because this was the easiest infrared picture I have ever processed. I channel swapped the colours and that is all….I haven’t done anything else to it. Normally I have to play with levels and heaps of other stuff to get the blues right and the white actually white, but for some reason this one didn’t need any adjusting at all…not sure why. Here are the camera details in case you’re curious…
Camera: FujiFilm FinePix S7000 Date: 16-02-2008 @ 11:46AM Location: Kurnell – just around the corner from where Captain Cook landed.
Once that IR filter is back on there’s no stopping you Naomi. I never knew the levels you normally had to go to, and I too sometimes feel unsure about uploading if i’ve not needed to do too much with a shot.
I’m glad you did choose to upload it. I love the way that the cloud diagonalises up and clips the top left of the tree – perfect positioning. The whites in the leaves are really nice and the white grass gives off that patented IR chill feel.
What really grabs my eye with your tree IR shots is the lovely strong shadows they create on the white ground and this beauty is no exception.

Beautiful, its only ever easy when you are good at it :-)
No, it’s not snow – the infrared makes it look like snow. The filter captures the infrared light that is not visible to the human eye and grass and plants etc go white.
great shot, clever editin, looks like a tree laden with blossom

Nice shot again Nome. Lovely fluffy clouds. Great composition. The tree looks kinda awkward to me…….like it fell asleep someplace else and its mates moved here for a laugh to freak it out and it doesnt know where it is……maybe it was on a Stag do…..and its the groom….andits ent mates got it plastered and shipped to OZ!
