The Tank Trap
Now here’s something you don’t see every day.
The cement pyramid is actually a tank trap. They were placed along sand dunes in Stockton (right on the coast) to protect Williamtown air base during World War II. They can be found in different locations throughout Newcastle now. I think the ones left at Stockton have been covered by sand.

I had a little chuckle when you wrote Newcastle and Stockton, because we have two towns of the same names within a twenty mile radius of us. Great capture by the way.

Wow.. such a great surreal image.. the IR suits this so well! I love how the pyramid rises from the grass and the effect of the IR in the trees.. Very nice!

Lovely toned shot again cheeky chops (thats what I call the girls at school when I cant remember their names….they ALWAYS blush and giggle tee hee). Everything is just right about this.Nice composition and first rate detail again! Wonderful! I think if I were a tankdriver I would just let this little pyramid have a few rounds before I tried to drive over it…....Just to avoid making a tank see-saw LOL!

It does look a little out of place now, underneath those quiet and peaceful looking trees.
Love the use of the trees as a frame and the tank trap cuts a prominent position in the foreground. The clouds are just delightful and the IR has done its usual fantastic work with the grass.

This reminds me of a gravestone in the shape of an offset white pyramid with the words of ‘shine on you crazy diamonds’....!!
