A dramtic powerful image Naomi. The deep green hues add a real sense of nature and the bright sun shining through the clouds is offset so perfectly against the deep dark moody rocks.

That is a fantastic sky – the clouds seem to be stretched out and pulled tight on a canvas and contain a myriad of shades bouncing off each unique texture they contain.

The water is quite crisp at that (by my standards) fast shutter speed and seems to sit around those rocks perfectly. The really deep greens make the water seem incredibly deep indeed, although I suspect that it’s not.

Finally the raised point on the landscape horizon adds to the main focal point, but being as a silhouette it’s up to the viewer to only guess as to what it may be. Looks like a waterfront apartment but I could be wrong (I usually am)

Firstly, thanks for your great comment.
You’re right about the water – it wasn’t deep – just past my ankles (I have fairly normal ankles too..lol).
In regards to the horizon – there are actually three levels to it – when I darkened them to make the silhouette they just merged into one.
The building (which was closest to the camera) is actually the surf house/lifeguard tower and then way behind that is Merewether Beach and then beyond that is another bit of the coastline (Dudley Beach I think…)
