Hi Charlene,
I use an R72 filter on my FijiFilm Finepix S7000. I set a custom white balance (pointing the camera at green grass). If it’s a really bright day I use short exposures, otherwise I go as long as I can – usually 6-8sec – the camera is on manual. Apperture is usually about a 4.I use a tripod & shutter release too. Always taken in RAW data.
Then when processing you need to channel swap the colours (get rid of the red) to make the image blue. I only have Photoshop Elements 4 – can’t do it with that version, so I do it in Paintshop. It’s a bit hit and miss really. Sometimes they turn out great.
My best advice is to play with the images in a programme until you figure out what works best for you. Perhaps try B&W until you get the hang of it…
